Junji Ito

Hey guys! so I think probably for the past few days I am going to be doing a 1 episode review on this anime called: "Junji Ito" Because I felt like it! From the name of it I think it's going to be cool! (Also it's a Horror so be warned!) I will just be doing a review on episode 1 because I have a feeling this will take too long and my fingers will hurt from typing. Although I might do another review on the next episode (There are 12 episodes in total) Here are some images of it! !!Trigger warning!! The following images may make you scared, disturbed, unsettled so please view it at your own risk:

Episode 1:

Honestly I didn't find it that scary it was just a little bit unsettling but not to the point where i got scared, it was just weird I guess. All that happened is that there is this guy named Souichi and I think he's the main character but I am not sure but he is basically like a Voo-doo person cause he has these dolls and he puts them on trees and puts pins on them and for some reason this guy died. I think it was someone from Souichi's school but I don't know. He also buried one of his classmates in dirt with their head sticking out, but they weren't dead, he just put them there and also had a doll buried exactly like the person. There is also an old man that owns the area of where Souichi pins dolls onto trees and he's trying to figure who it is and when he find them he's gonna kill them. And yeah those are basically the main parts of what happened, but so far I am enjoying it.

Also Souichi is the guy that is smiling very weirdly in the picture but I have no idea who the other characters are yet.
Anyways Thank you for viewing this blog post and I hope you have a good day! Bye!
Also if you're interested in watching this watch it at your own risk! If you want to know where I watch it just comment! Anyways Bye! :D

  1. Kia ora Tiare - the images you have included in your post are incredibly expressive! Such talented artists that have created these images. Full of characterization! You have written a fabulous review of this anime episode. I like how you have included a 'Trigger Warning' in your post to notify your readers of the scary elements! What do you enjoy the most about this type of animation? I wonder what will happen in the next episode! Hopefully you will get to know who the other characters are. Thanks for sharing. 1. Hi Jen,
Thank you for commenting on my blog!
I think what I enjoy the most about this type of animation would be it's art style, it's not something that I am familiar with and I think it's really cool.
If you could would you watch Junji Ito?
Again thank you for commenting on my blog I hope you have a good day! Bye!

  2. Hi Tiare,

Thank you for sharing your detailed and descriptive review. I find it useful in helping me to decide which anime I should watch next, especially with the Trigger Warning. The horror plot reminds me of Yamishibai, another series of spooky stories based on Japanese myths and forklore. Have you watched it?
It is also interesting to know the guy who is smiling is the main character since I could not tell from the images. How do you think the plot will turn in the next episode?
I am looking forward to reading more review from you.

    Stay safe,
    Miss Helen

    1. Hi Miss Helen,
Thank you for commenting on my blog!
I am glad that you found it useful to make you decide which anime you should watch next! :D
I haven't watched nor heard of Yamishibai but I might decide to watch it once I have finished Junji Ito cause it also sounds very cool!
I had no Idea who the main character was when I watched the first episode so I was just assuming it was him, but after i watched the second episode I realised he's not the main character and I think all of the people in that image are the main characters not just one.
Every episode on Junji Ito has different stories and I'm not sure if it will add up to a conclusion, I guess I will just have to wait till I finish it.
Again thank you for commenting on my blog! I hope you have a good day! Bye!

  3. Hello Tiare, this series you are watching looks rather creepy.I see that the person at the very right of the picture is vomiting out a slug, it is like in harry potter. You should watch the series "Tales of Arcadia" next,it is really good. Thank for sharing your interests but I can assure you that I will not be watching this series.

Thank you for commenting on blog!
And yes it is rather creepy but I find these types of things very interesting and fascinating.
I found it funny how you said "I can assure you that I will be not watching this series"
Also once I have finished Junji Ito I might watch "Tales of Arcadia" but could you tell a bit more about it?
Again thank you for commenting on my blog.
I hope you have a good day! Bye!

  4. Hello Tiare!
I haven't seen this before, not in manga or in anime but it looks interesting. Does it have a age limitation? I'm pretty sure it does just by looking at the pictures. At first when I saw a J I thought it was going to be Jujutsu Kaisen but I guess this is new to me too.

    1. Hi Ashly,
I can confirm that this anime/manga is very interesting.
It most likely does have a age limitation because it has a lot of gore and very unsettling. (for some viewers.) But I really like it!
If you could would you watch or read Junji Ito?
Thank you for commenting on my blog! I hope you have a good day!
      Bye!
