What is the difference between a Comic strip, a Comic book and a Cartoon?

What is the difference between a Comic strip, a Comic book and a cartoon?

Hi! For reading we got given an activity and we got a link to the site where the activities are, there are twenty activities (we got to choose two.) My first activity is: what's the difference between a Comic strip, a comic book and a cartoon? The second activity I chose will be posted on my blog very soon :) I researched most of the information in this post.

Now what is a Comic strip?

A Comic strip is a sequence of drawing, either in color or black and white, relating a comic incident, and adventure or mystery story, etc. Usually printed as a horizontal strip in daily newspapers and in an uninterrupted block or longer sequence of such strips in Sunday newspapers and in comic books.

Fun Fact!

The first newspaper comic strips appeared in North America in the 19th century. The yellow kid is usually credited as one of the first newspaper strips. However, the art form combining words and pictures developed gradually and there are many examples that led up to the comic strip.

Here is a image of the comic: The Yellow Kid

What is a Comic book?

A comic book is basically the exact same as a Comic strip but a longer story and in a book, usually showing a characters adventure etc.

What is a Cartoon?

A Cartoon is either a short or long animation which is telling a story, Cartoons can usually be on TV for entertainment, Like: Powerpuff girls, SpongeBob etc.

Well this is the end of this blog post and I hope you enjoyed reading this, and I hope it wasn't to long and boring, I hope you learnt the difference between A comic strip, a comic book and a cartoon. I hope I put enough information! Anyways I hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope you have an amazing day!

!!Leadership Day!!

Hi there!! On Thursday the 19th, the year 7s and some of the year 8s who had a leadership role went to Spencer park for leadership day. Leadership day is for the year 7s and we do activities and we are split in groups and the people in my group were: Ashly, Zara, Oliver, Jason and Kane.  My favourite activity was the flying fox activity and we were split into groups of three people, I was with Zara and Ashly, what we had to do was, we had to jump on the flying fox all three of us and not touch the ground while we make it to the end of it. I fell down a couple of times but we all laughed, we were all laughing most of the time.     I really enjoyed this day as I became more confident in myself and I was cheering for people in my group which is actually different for me. We did leadership day as an example for the prefects etc, also teachers to pick out some people who they think they will be good to take on a leadership role. I really enjoyed this day as it was very fun and different for me. Here are some photos of me and my group doing our activities. I hope you enjoy this blog post! I learnt a lot of things! And I hope you have a good day!     Bye!!

!!Tree Developments!!

Hi there! Yesterday Mary from Orchards in schools came into our school to talk about the Trees, like their growth, the different ones, etc.  Everyone in my class were in groups and planted their own trees but i was away and didn't get to plant it and make some designs for the, most of the designs on the signs were pretty cool. Also when Mary was talking some people were aloud to clip off the little fruits as it is still a baby tree and if the fruit still grows then it will fall and maybe the branch might split depending on how heavy the fruit is. I really enjoyed looking at the trees and Mary talking about them cause I learned a lot of things even though I was not there when planting them. And there were cute little fluffy bees that i found so adorable! Anyways I hope you enjoyed my blog post and here are some pictures of my class and also some kids in other classrooms as well!! (and also other photos as well!)

!!My Speech

Hi again! Today my Teacher told our class that we have to post our speeches from last week. My speech is about why I don't like speeches. I really enjoyed this speech and I hope you enjoy! ( I find it quite funny)

Hi.  I’m going to talk about why i just don’t like speeches.

I didn’t want to do this, I wanted to stay home.

I was actually gonna pull a sicky just so i didn’t have to do this

but my chances of that are 1 to 10.

I am just standing up here in front of everyone my stomach is feeling weird,

my hands are sweaty and i feel like crying so badly.

But mostly everyone should know that I’m the person who doesn’t

really talk that much in the class. Can we have 2 minutes of silence, please,

it would make it so much easier and quicker and makes the time go faster.

Why I don’t like speeches

Well I get really self conscious about when i talk around a lot of people,

but when I’m with my friends I am really loud.

I get nervous and worried that people will judge me.

And also i only like talking with a little group of people instead of a whole class.

My Mum always says “ get out of your comfort zone and try new things

it will be good for you!!” yeah nahhh Cause im doing the speech mum not you!

It usually takes me a really long to time to actually get out of my comfort zone.

Put your hand up if you like speeches?? What’s wrong with you??

Nah jokes, but nah seriously whats wrong with you??

How do you even like them??

Why do we even do speeches?

I would rather be at home sleeping than doing this.

Everyone has there thing or their fear of something and

yep yous all guessed it, mine is speeches or talking in big groups...

Argh,my heart is pounding so hard in my chest….

Like i just wanna leave and….not do this speech!

But i can’t do that so i guess i might as well get it over and done with.

I’m trying to breathe and speak at the same time….....

wait how is that even possible????

(say the word SPEECH really slowly)...

jeepers it actually works

Hahahaha i actually learnt something new today...

TO NEVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Miss McCombie is it time up yet?? I’m sure I have been up here like at

Least over a minute and a half...it feels like it....not sure though....

which means i have just under 2 minutes

Until i’m nearly finished…..or maybe...

just maybe if i stand here and look confused at my paper like

i've lost where I’m up to then i wont have to carry on…..

that would be really cool…...

did i say that out loud!!!!!! What the heck (slap ya head)

Note to self…….  stop saying my thoughts out loud like shame!!

And pull the sicky earlier in the week that way

i can stay home on the actual speech day.

Anyway i think i've expressed more than enough of how i don’t like speeches and what it

does to me  so 1 minute of silence should be more than enough for me to take my seat.

But I still don’t like speeches, Thanks for listening. :)
